Scooter Gennett, Aaron Judge Take Weekly Honors
Scooter Gennett of the Reds, who had the first four-homer game since 2012 and just the 17th in baseball history, and the Yankees’ Aaron Judge, who slashed .500/.600/1.000, were named NL and AL Players of the Week Monday.
Judge, who leads baseball with 21 homers, had 10 runs scored, three doubles, three home runs and six RBIs in six games to earn his first career AL Player of the Week Award.
Gennett batted .500 (10-for-20) with six runs scored, two doubles, four home runs, 13 RBIs and a stolen base to earn his first career NL Player of the Week Award. Gennett logged the first four-homer game in the majors since Josh Hamilton did it for the Rangers on May 6, 2012 at Baltimore.
