Create Your Own Adidas Cleat for a Chance to Win It
First MLB unveiled the “dad jean” version of the Adidas Afterburner 4 cleat for Father’s Day. Then came the popsicle design for July 4. And now that Adidas athletes will wear their own custom creation Afterburner cleats for MLB Players Weekend, Baseball America and Adidas want readers to create their own design with a chance to win the cleat.
Ahead of the Aug. 25-27 Players Weekend, which features player nicknames on the back of uniforms and custom-designed equipment, including bats, gloves and cleats, fans can visit the main adidas baseball page to custom design an adizero Afterburner baseball cleat. Upon finishing the design, share it on Twitter or Instagram and tag @BaseballAmerica and @adidasbaseball for a chance to win the cleat.
The lightest cleat in the game includes a seamless upper and a reinforced abrasion toecap. Designed aerodynamically to wrap the foot, the 2017 version of the cleat includes a breathable, compression bootie for movement in the ankle. An articulated heel helps keep the cleat connected to the foot.
The contest runs until Friday at 1 p.m. ET. Baseball America staff will select a variety of cleats that show the personality of the game of baseball, keeping with the spirit of Players Weekend, and then randomly select the winner from the finalists.
