Newsmakers from yesterday’s action:

Gabriel Ynoa, RHP, Orioles – The Orioles playoff hopes are all but done, but the rookie righthander delivered a promising performance to build off of. Ynoa tossed eight strong innings with only five hits and one run allowed to lead the Orioles to a 3-1 win over the Rays on Thursday, and held his 94-95 mph velocity into the eighth and final inning.

Walker Buehler, RHP, Dodgers – A season that began in high Class A now includes a major league win. Buehler tossed a scoreless sixth inning against the Phillies—his first scoreless outing after allowing a run in each of his last three relief appearances—and earned the win when the Dodgers surged into the lead in the top of the seventh. It was his first major league victory.

Ozzie Albies, 2B – Albies snapped an 0-for-12 skid in a big way, going 3-for-4 to help the Braves to a 3-2 win over the Nationals. The performance bumped Albies’ slash line up to .283/.360/.457 since his Aug. 1 callup, an incredibly promising performance for the 20-year-old second baseman.

Tyler Olsen, LHP, Indians – Olson struggled in his first tastes of the majors with Seattle in 2015 and the Yankees in 2016, but has come into his own with the Indians this year in his official rookie campaign. Olson has yet to allow a run in 17.2 innings of relief this season, and earned his first career save Thursday with a perfect ninth to finish off a 4-1 win over the Angels
