Nike Launches Alpha Huarache Elite Cleat
Nike launched the brand-new Alpha Huarache Elite baseball cleat on Oct. 1, an extension of a popular line of baseball cleats from the brand.
With full-length Nike Max Air cushioning underfoot, the latest Huarache edition aims to minimize underfoot stud pressure and provide comfort throughout practice and games. To go with the air cushioning, a modified neoprene bootie for interior fit puts a premium on what Nike designers call a “sock-like fit.”
The cleat plate features dimpled Pebax meant to minimize mud accumulation.
On the synthetic leather upper, the Flywire cabling secures the cleat across the foot and reinforced ankle wings add both protection and comfort in the rise of the upper. Cushioned heel pillows continue to put a focus on comfort.
The original launch includes two colorways of the cleat, one with white, metallic silver and metallic gold and the other with two types of grey to go with both the metallic silver and metallic gold. Both cleated versions cost $95. Two colorways of the turf version, at $80, include a mimicking of the cleat colorway and one with a heavy focus on white and a gum sole. The turf version shifts to Lunarlon cushioning and a perforated, breathable upper.
