Henry is one of the spin rate monsters of the 2022 class, with a big-breaking, mid-70s curveball that has massive depth and downer action in the 3,200-3,300 rpm range. While his feel for spin is his most obvious tool now, Henry also has a projectable 6-foot-5, 202-pound frame and a fastball that sat around 90 mph last summer but has been up to 93 and does a nice job missing bats at the top of the zone. He has also flashed a low-80s changeup that shows potential. Henry will need to develop more feel to land his stuff for strikes consistently, and his arm action has lots of length in the back with a higher release point that isn’t truly an over-the-top motion given the amount of spine tilt in his upper body. Henry suffered a torn UCL in February and Tommy John surgery wiped out his senior season, which clouds his draft stock. Henry has a chance to become the highest-drafted high schooler out of South Dakota if a team is willing to take a chance on his rehab, and there’s plenty of upside remaining with more strength gains. If not, Henry is committed to Wichita State.
