Davis II last year had a strong freshman season and pitched his way to a 5.35 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 33.2 innings, en route to an all-SEC freshman team selection and Team USA invite. This year was almost a carbon copy of 2023, and he again threw 33.2 innings and struck out 38 against 17 walks. He has an extremely long, lanky build at 6-foot-5 and 185 pounds with an especially lengthy lower half. Davis II has an easy delivery that becomes more up-tempo once the hands break with some natural deception and effort. His fastball sits in the 93-96 range, but will top out at 97/98. It explodes out of the hand and flashes riding life through the zone, and last year averaged over 16.5 inches of IVB.
