The 6-foot-3, 205-pound righthander is a good athlete who was up to 97 mph with his fastball in the fall but had a velocity drop off in the spring, when he sat in the low 90s. He has a solid curveball and slider, but has never performed consistently, despite his good body and flashes of greatness in the fall. The 22-year-old posted a 3.89 ERA over 71.2 innings for Central Missouri this year, walking 16 and striking out 78.
