Griffin is an athletic, loose-armed lefty who is one of the younger pitchers in the draft class. A skinny (6-foot-4, 175-pound) athlete, his best work is likely still ahead of him. If he gets to Arkansas, he could be an even higher draft pick in three years, but a team focused on his ceiling could try to nab him in the fourth or fifth round. Griffin sits 89-93 mph right now with the potential to add a little more velocity. His low-80s slider can be a swing-and-miss pitch. He also throws a curve and a changeup, but both of them need further refinement. Griffin’s delivery could use a little refining, which will likely happen as he adds strength.
