Colon-Rosado combined for just 15 plate appearances between the 2020 and 2021 seasons but stepped into Southern California’s everyday right field role in 2022. He handled himself nicely, slashing .298/.372/.466 with eight home runs and six doubles. The native Puerto Rican has plenty of moving parts in his swing, with an upright and open setup, a toe tap to get to a closed position during his load and plenty of pre-pitch bat waggle and hand movement. Those moving parts lead scouts to wonder how well he’ll handle professional pitching, and he did struggle against 93+ mph velocity and breaking stuff this spring. His performance with the bat this spring could make him a draft pick somewhere in the 11-20 round range.
