A switch-hitting infielder with a 6-foot, 205-pound frame and power from both sides, Denton has been a solid performer for Alabama throughout his career. After tallying 10 homers in 2021, he topped that number this spring with 13, while slashing .263/.337/.483. That all-fields power comes with plenty of swing and miss and Denton struck out at a 25.4% clip this spring and has a career strikeout rate of 22.6% with Alabama. He struggles against secondary pitches and was overmatched by 93+ mph velocity this spring. He has played first base, shortstop and third base for the Sooners, but is a primary third baseman and scouts believe he can play the position at an average level.
