Brown was the most reliable hitter on Louisville’s team this spring, outside of catcher Henry Davis who ranked as the top college bat in the class. Listed at 5-foot-10, 195 pounds, Brown has a sloppy approach at the plate and limited impact, but he’s a 65 or better runner with bat-to-ball skills. Brown never hit a home run in his collegiate career and doesn’t have a frame that suggests much more strength or power in the future, so a team is banking on an up-the-middle profile in the outfield, speed and contact ability that could turn into a spark plug at the top of a lineup as a best-case scenario.
