Skenes, Elly & The Jacksons: Where Are The Big Topps Debut 1/1 Patch Cards?

About 50 of the 251 MLB Debut Patch 1/1 cards have been pulled since 2024 Topps Chrome Update was released. So far, none of the top players on the checklist are among the names that have surfaced online.

That includes players such as Paul Skenes, Elly De La Cruz, Jackson Chourio, Jackson Merrill, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shota Imanaga, Jackson Holliday, Jasson Dominguez and Junior Caminero.

Of course, it’s possible that private collectors pulled those cards and are choosing to keep their great fortune silent for now.

But none of those names have surfaced yet on social media, on eBay or with any online breakers, who are a very prominent (and very public) part of the hobby, and who are responsible for the vast majority of the pulls so far.

Pete Crow-Armstrong and Colton Cowser are among the most prominent patches pulled so far. Those are solid players, but the players mentioned earlier are still garnering the most interest (and the most expensive breaks) in the hobby thus far.

The 2024 Chrome Update release has proven hugely popular so far. Hobby, jumbo and mega boxes all sold out on Topps.com within hours of release. The release is also available in a “Breaker’s Delight” format, which features just one pack, but loaded with two autographs, multiple numbered cards and refractors.

Interest only skyrocketed even more after the Pirates announced their massive bounty for the Skenes debut patch card on Friday. And Topps is already offering $1,000 bounties for the first 50 patch cards pulled on the online breaking platform Fanatics Live (Topps is owned by Fanatics) from now through Nov. 20 — $500 for whoever gets the card (and you get to keep the card), and $500 to a random viewer who happens to be watching at the time.

Last year’s biggest bounty came from retailer Dave & Adam’s Card World, which offered $150,000 for the Anthony Volpe debut patch. It took roughly eight months for that card to finally surface. That card was pulled from a Breaker’s Delight box.
