Drafted in the 14th round (409th overall) by the Kansas City Royals in 2021 (signed for $125,000).

Monke was Arkansas’ second most-used reliever in 2021, behind only Kevin Kopps. He lost the feel for the strike zone late in the season, but he has the makings of being a useful lefty reliever in pro ball. Monke’s delivery has some effort and leaves him spinning off, which may in part explain his shaky control. He walked 5.5 batters per nine innings compared to 11.1 strikeouts per nine. His fringe-average 92-94 mph fastball plays reasonably well as long as he keeps it up in the zone and it pairs well with an above-average 78-82 mph slider.
