Aper posted the best numbers of any Division II junior college player in the nation. When Lincoln Land's season ended in late May, he led D-II jucos in runs (82), hits (96), homers (17), extra-base hits (46) and slugging (.904). He also ranked second in OPS (1.444), third in steals (52 in 59 tries) and fourth in batting (.462) and on-base percentage (.540). The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder is wiry and has a quick righthanded bat. Some scouts don't like his swing and upright stance, wondering how he'll fare against better pitching. He has impressive tools across the board, with plus speed, center-field skills and arm strength. Aper is an aggressive player with keen instincts. He'll attend Middle Tennessee State if he doesn't turn pro.
