It’s pretty rare to call the third overall pick in the draft a “steal,” but the Rockies might be able to do exactly that, as they selected former Georgia superstar Charlie Condon. He more than made the most of his two years in Athens. As a redshirt freshman, Condon burst onto the scene and took home redshirt freshman of the year honors after hitting .386/.484/.800 with 25 home runs and 67 RBIs in 56 games.

He somehow upstaged his 2023 season this past spring and posted an otherworldly .433/.556/1.009 slash line with 20 doubles, a 21st century record 37 home runs and 78 RBIs in 60 games. Condon has comfortably double-plus power that he has had no issue getting to in-game, which he supplements with a borderline plus hit tool. He has an advanced feel for the barrel, making him a nightmare for college pitchers to deal with.

For someone who is 6-foot-6 with long levers, Condon has a uniquely compact and explosive operation. Defensively, he has drawn comparisons to Kris Bryant. There is no “slam dunk” position for Condon in the field, but he has shown he can hold his own in left field, either corner infield spot and even centerfield in a pinch. His profile projects to translate well to the uber-hitter friendly environment that is Coors field, and he has 40+ home run upside in the majors.
