After hitting over .300 in each of his first two seasons, Perich made a jump as a junior and through 42 games hit .379/.492/.569 with six home runs, a 12.2% strikeout rate and a 17.6% walk rate. His batted ball data is excellent as well and should amplify his profile for teams who might be concerned about his quality of competition. Perich has shown an impressive blend of contact, power and swing decisions—though his home run output throughout college is only middling. He’s a patient hitter who rarely expands the zone and almost never misses on fastballs though he has mostly faced upper-80s heaters in the Patriot League. He’s been a better hitter from the right side throughout his career.
