Hill is a rail-thin lefthander with a 6-foot-4, 170-pound frame who flashed a pair of promising pitches over the 2023 high school showcase circuit and then took big steps forward during his senior season with Grapevine High outside Dallas. After sitting in the upper 80s and touching 92-93 mph early in his starts last summer, Hill was often sitting in the 92-94 mph range this spring with a few 96s at peak. In addition to a fastball that is tracking like an above-average pitch, Hill also throws a 78-83 mph slider that earns future plus grades and has been more consistent than it was in the past. Previously, his breaking ball would get loopy and lack power, but scouts have appreciated the bite and sharpness of his breaking pitch this spring. He’ll also mix in an upper-70s changeup that he throws with solid arm speed and could become a fine third pitch to complete his repertoire. Hill throws from a three-quarters slot and is a solid strike-thrower, but there are questions about how his body will progress. On the surface, he has a frame that suggests plenty of room for more strength and mass, but he’s so thin that scouts wonder if he will always struggle to put on weight, a la Guardians righthander Triston McKenzie. Hill has pitched himself into the top-three rounds range but is a Dallas Baptist commitment if he’s not selected and signed.

Hill is a projectable lefthander with a 6-foot-4, 170-pound frame that has tons of room for additional mass and strength in the future. During the 2023 showcase circuit he flashed a pair of promising pitches including a fastball that sat in the 91-93 mph range early in outings before the velocity quickly faded into the upper 80s, as well as a high-spin slider that flashed potential but lacked consistency and power. As he adds more strength and better learns how to sequence his delivery and repeat his release Hill could make significant strides forward. Early in the 2024 season he was heading in the right direction with velocity and was touching 95 mph. Hill is committed to Dallas Baptist.
