Arizona Fall League Prospect Report: Cubs Outfielder Enjoys Massive Day

Victor Scott II, OF, Cardinals: Scott entered the Fall League as a prospect known mostly for his blazing speed. That rep came with good reason, because the West Virginia alum swiped 94 bags during the regular season. In recent weeks in the AFL, he’s shown more than a little bit of pop. On Tuesday, Scott swatted a leadoff longball in his club’s win over Peoria. The blast was his third of the AFL. He also stole his 14th base.
Kevin Alcantara, OF, Cubs: When things are going well for Alcantara, they’re usually going really well. On Tuesday, they might have been even better than that. The lanky slugger had a massive day for Mesa, going 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a homer and five RBIs. The Solar Sox needed every bit of that production, edging Salt River by a lone run. The outburst brings Alcantara’s AFL totals to five doubles and five home runs.
James Triantos, OF, Cubs: It was a Cubs kind of day in the desert. Beyond Kevin Alcantara’s exploits, Triantos continued his white-hot hitting. The 20-year-old rapped out two more hits, scored thrice and walked once in Mesa’s win. Triantos also got more exposure to center field, where he’s played four times this fall and five times during the regular season. Triantos is now hitting .437/.518/.746 for the AFL.
