Prospect Report: Coby Mayo Leads Norfolk To IL Title

Coby Mayo, 3B, Orioles: Norfolk won its first International League title since 1985 and Mayo can claim a significant share of the trophy. Mayo homered in Game Two as Norfolk rallied to even the series. And last night Mayo went 4-for-4 with a double and a home run in the deciding Game Three. Mayo hit .545 in the three playoff games. Norfolk will now face Oklahoma City on Sept. 30 for the Triple-A Championship.
Jackson Holliday, SS, Orioles: Holliday also homered in Norfolk’s title clincher. Counting the playoffs, Holliday has played in 128 games this year. With only one game remaining, Holliday is assured of avoiding ever having back-to-back games where he failed to reach base.
Heston Kjerstad, OF, Orioles: Keeping it Orioles focused on the day that the big league club also clinched the AL East title, Kjerstad’s pinch-hitting RBI single proved to be a big blow in the clincher.
