Drafted in the 11th round (319th overall) by the Colorado Rockies in 2013 (signed for $100,000).
View Draft Report
Dwyer popped up as a 2010 draft prospect late during his senior high school season in Florida based on his performance with the bat. He was BA's No. 167 prospect before the draft but lasted until the 15th round, where the Padres took him. He didn't sign and was part of a decorated Florida Gulf Coast recruiting class that pushed the team into BA's Top 25 this season and went 37-20. The 6-foot-2, 188-pounder had his best season as a junior and finally tapped into some of his raw power. He's still a corner bat that hit just 12 home runs in three seasons, but he made more contact this season and has shown more of a willingness to make adjustments. His defensive tools and skills remain modest.
