A slight two-way player in high school, Tzamtzis was drafted as a righthander by Houston in the 43rd round of the 2009 draft. He honored his commitment to North Carolina State and made 21 appearances as a freshman, but missed his sophomore season following Tommy John surgery. He's made 15 appearances (eight starts) in his return to the hill and was 5-4, 3.31 with 56 strikeouts and 34 walks in 54 innings. He's been up to 95 mph with his fastball and sits in the 90-93 range. He stands at 6-feet, 175 pounds and projects as a reliever in pro ball.
