The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Miller is an athletic specimen with two standout tools. His arm strength behind the plate is plus or even better, and he threw out 44 percent of basestealers this spring. He is also a plus runner who has been clocked at 6.6 seconds in the 60-yard dash. His athleticism gives him good mobility behind the plate, though he still has work to do with his receiving. Scouts think he can be an average defensive catcher because he has made strides. Miller's bat is the question. One scout described his swing as awkward, and he is vulnerable against breaking stuff. He can bench press 345 pounds and flashes raw power in BP, but his long swing needs improvement in order to tap into it. Miller pitched in high school and has shown low-90s heat off the mound, so pitching could be a fallback option if catching doesn't work out. He is committed to Nebraska.
