Gott has broken Kentucky's single-season (12 and counting) and career (27) saves records this spring. Though he stands just 6 feet and 190 pounds, he owns a 92-94 mph fastball with sink and run and is capable of reaching 96. He has done a better job of holding his velocity on consecutive days this year. Gott's delivery features a quick arm and deception rather than effort, so he throws strikes with ease. His biggest need is to tighten his slider, which operates in the low 80s and often winds up as a slurve. He also has aptitude for throwing a changeup, though he doesn't use it much. Gott has further aided his cause by dominating for two summers in the Cape Cod League and has shown no recurring effects from the shoulder bursitits that cut his 2012 Cape stint short.
